10 January 2012 Cronicas De La Raza – KPFA FM

Posted on January 11, 2012

Tonight La Raza Chronicles honors the memory of Yvette Hochberg who died this past Sunday morning from cancer. Yvette was a tireless KPFA producer, most notably for the Womens Magazine program heard Mondays at 1pm. Yvette offered La Raza Chronicle’s her full hearted support and assistance when ever needed. She helped us get our show on the air to you even when asked at the last minute; she was there for us. Companera Yvette Hochberg, Presente!

Tonight’s program includes:

  • a poem by Daniel del Solar about the Fukishima nuclear melt down
  • an interview by Victoria Z. with popular singer/song writer Gustavo Galindo, his life, his views and his songs.
  • a conversation with Francisco Herrera about the concept of Chicano Soul. He sings his song “A Mother’s Love” from the film, La Mission.

Listen and enjoy!
