- Julieta Kusnir and Nina Serrano discuss the Occupations in NYC and Oakland.
- Interviews with the leading Bay Area artists including Rene Yanez about the upcoming Dia de los Muertos events and the opportunity to receive thank you gifts for your KPFA subscriptions- including a print by Jos Sonces and a private guided tour of the SOMARTS exhibit by the curator, Rene Yanez.
- Flamenco singer and cultural promoter Nina Menendez will discuss flamenco : it’s history and practice. She will also be offering tickets to the Diego el Gigalo concert, with a Flamenco Cd and DVD to listeners who subscribe and support Free speech radio and la Raza Chronicles.

- We offer tickets to La Colmenita , a production of the National Children’s Theatre of Cuba to be held in San Francisco Oct. 28 and 29. The live production is written and performed by 30 Cuban children…..as a premimum to those who donate to KPFA and support La Raza Chronicles.
- Saul Landau discusses his many conversations with Fidel Castro over the decades.
- We offer dvd copies of Landau’s film “FIDEL” produced in 1968 when the filmmaker traveled the island with the historic revolutionary leader, Fidel Castro…. as a premimum to those who donate to KPFA and support La Raza Chronicles.

Pulitzer Prize winning author, Oscar Hijuelos reading from his memoir, “Thoughts without Cigarettes.” Listeners can obtain a Cd of his reading and the conversation with Nina Serrano recorded live at la Pena in Berkeley in June 2011 as a premium for subscribing to KPFA.
Hijuelos’ novel “The Mambo Kings” became a major Hollywood movie starring, Antonio Banderas and Celia Cruz making a guest appearance. Hijuelos chronicles his life as the child of pre- revolutionary Cuban immigrants in the rough part of New York City in the early 50’s and his coming of age. He discusses identity, family, love, Latin music and jazz.
